Brand Pall Mall Cigarettes
Pall Mall Cigarettes
Butler & Butler Company produced Pall Mall cigarettes in the year 1899, thereby targeting the higher income group of the society with a supreme quality cigarette. Its name was derived from a 17th century game whereby a player aims to steer a wooden ball with a mallet down an alley with minimum number of strokes. Pall Mall was at the number one position in America in the year 1960. It came with a grammatically incorrect slogan in 1940 which read: the cigarette which “travels the smoke further”. What they really wanted to project was longer cigarettes with length of about 85mm.
