American Tobacco Company was pioneers in toasting the tobacco for cigarettes as opposed to sun drying; the output of this technology fusion was Lucky Strike cigarettes. Initially, Lucky Strike was produced in a dark green color which was later changed to white. A large amount of copper was required to produce the dark green packaging and because it was war; copper was not readily available for this purpose. Lucy Strike brand is being marketed by a number of American Companies these days and one of its popularly marketed names is ‘Luckies’. Filtered cigarettes were introduced only in San Francisco back in 1996 however only after 1999 one could find them readily available in the entire U.S. As part of the global drive brand Lucy Strike continues to enjoy sustained promotion and distribution in territories controlled by British American Tobacco.
